01-28-10 Frankie Goes to Hollywood

This was a great day! We took Frankie up to LA to go to the Hollywood sign and also to Hollywood Blvd. I had been wanting to do this since Frankie was a puppy. He's 3 now. So, yeah, this was way overdue!

We drove up to LA and ended up in a slightly different spot than we had planned but it was a cool place. There was a great little hiking trail and also some horse stables where you can rent horses and a view of the sign! So we hiked up a bit to a good spot for the sign and we tried to get a good photo of Frankie and the sign. This was a task easier said than done because Frankie was so excited and he could hear the horses and there were other people about. Also, it was really glarey at that time of day in that location. There was a pretty view there though!

So, we walked back down and went to another spot by the sign. This was a little better. There were houses around but it was a better view of the sign and less distractions for Frankie.

Then it was off to Hollywood Blvd to find one of Frankie's namesake's stars. Frank Sinatra. So, we parked and we cruised down the Blvd. I thought Frankie might be scared of the people in costumes that inhabit Hollywood Blvd but, he loved them and they seemed to love him right back. He was pet by a Heath Ledger Joker, a Spiderman, a Cookie Monster and an Indiana Jones as well as many a tourist and a few Hollywood teenagers. But my favorite moment was passing a foreign shop owner who was standing outside his shop as we passed and who exclaimed upon seeing Frankie "Why is he so happy?! What has he to be so happy about?! He is so happy for no reason! He is happy to be alive!" hehehehe... yeah, Frankie is a happy dog and he LOVES walks and he LOVES being around lots of people so he was extra happy walking on that crowded street!

We finally found one of Frank's stars and we got a picture of Frankie with it.

Then we walked back to the car and headed home. Curtis had to get to work and I had to go help Karen continue cleaning up the oil spill on her driveway. :( But then we got to hang out and drink some nice shiraz and eat chocolate. And that was a lovely way to end the day!
