Hi all! Origionally I had posted this and the next few blogs on my other blog "Rene's Revolution". While in theory I guess they are a part of my revolution, I try to keep that blog to more body image/weight and pitbull issues because those are my two featured causes over there. So, I decided that this subject also fit in quite well over here on Lil Vixen Stirs Things Up. So, without further ado, may I present The first post for Project 365 2010!
Happy New Year! Here's a couple pics of us from NYE. The first is us dressed up, the second is after I got comfy. And then the third is me being silly doing a back walk over off our friend's chair. :)
Some of you might remember that in 2008 Curtis, our friend Dean and I all participated in something called Project 366. 2008 was a leap year so there were 366 days and we took a photo of ourselves that represented our day every day. I missed a few days. So did Curtis. Dean didn't. But then, it was Dean's idea to begin with and he's an artist skilled at graphic design and photoshop, so he had a bit of an edge to begin with. The project was really interesting and we all learned a bit about ourselves and now, when I look back on it, I can pretty much remember what happened everyday thanks to those photos. In that project we had to have some part of ourselves in the photo, so, a reflection, a foot, a hand a few fingers... those all counted but we had to be in the pics. It helped with our creativity and it was a fun, if not sometimes frustrating (about to go to bed, looking like hell and remembering you didn't take a picture during all the really newsworthy parts of your day for example) project. You can see my "Project 366" here at Myspace. We took 2009 off from the photo documentation, but this year we are back in business! Dean will be taking a photo everyday that is either interesting/inspiring or a representation of the day, but he doesn't have to be in all of them. He will be documenting this on Facebook, so if you know him you can follow his progress there. He's worth watching as his photos are always good and interesting and artsy. I have decided to do a similar thing except I am going to try and have a different theme each month. So, for example January is going to be "Try something new everyday month". I will be posting on Facebook, possibly myspace (I'm not there very much though so, we'll see) and here on the blog. Curtis is going to try and do the same thing though, he makes no promises as to how well he'll do with keeping to the themes. He is only posting on his blog which you can see HERE. We figure that this will be good for us because it will make us actually go out into the world and do stuff that we've never done which, of course, will enrich our lives. It will also give he and I a reason to blog EVERYDAY to post our photo and to talk about our "new thing" or whatever the theme is that month. The "new thing" doesn't have to be huge, though it can be, it can be as simple as taking a different route on a walk. Which is what we did today.
That above photo is a bit blurry. So, I also included this one, which I also took today. This might be my new fave pic of him.
Today we took Frankie for a nice long walk. We took a route along a railroad track near my house. We'd never walked along that track before. It was kinda neat. Very "Stand By Me". ;-) Although, at one point Frankie stopped to sniff some grass. I pulled on his leash but he wouldn't budge. Then all of a sudden he rolled onto his back and started to roll around. He's never done this on a walk. I went over to stop him because he was getting his doggy sweatshirt all dirty and because well, we were on the side of a train track, it wasn't exactly the best area to be rolling around and I noticed dead bird parts nearby. Gross. I don't think that we will be taking that route very often if ever again. But still, despite that incident, it was a neat experience. I'd been wanting to try that route and we'd walked along some other train tracks (really this isn't as dangerous as it might sound, trust me.) before but there was less grass, and less scenery so these tracks made for a pretty nice walk. If anything, it felt adventurous, unknown and new which is exactly how things should feel on New Year's Day, right? Happy 2010! Let the project begin!
