01-10-10 Decontamination and a Giant Burrito

Yeah, I know, this is not really a great photo. But yeah, this burrito was the only "new thing" I tried today. Let me tell ya about my day.

I woke up while Curtis was getting ready to go to work. Barely. I went back to sleep after he left. I woke up for real around 10 am. I checked my email, facebook and twitter. I fed the dog. Then I realized that I had a day of cleaning and laundry ahead of me. You see, due to the pinkeye contamination I had to wipe down everything that Curtis had touched in the last couple of days. I broke out the Clorox wipes and went to town. Then I started the first of what would be FIVE loads of laundry. I did some more decontamination cleanup (emptying trashcans of possible pinkeye infested tissues, etc) while waiting to change out loads of laundry. Sheets, pillowcases, pillows themselves, clothes that we had worn during the contamination phase, and the comforter. This took up the majority of my day. And since I am a bit of a germ phobe, especially abut pinkeye, my hands were a bit raw from all the Clorox wipes using and hand washing over and over and over....It's one of the few things I can be a little obsessive about. ;-) During the last load I squeezed in a good cardio workout. Then I took a shower and Curtis came home and then we headed out.

We were going to a birthday dinner for a friend. After my day I was looking forward to some relaxation. We had some chips and salsa, I had a margarita, and we chatted with some cool artsy folks. Then we ordered. I had only eaten there a couple of times before and usually I got one of the combo plates. This time I tried something new. It was the "wet" "Burrito Vegetariano" with green sauce because I hadn't tried that dish before and I usually get things with red sauce. I'm a big fan of red sauces. But this project has me going wild and crazy with new things so, I had to try some green sauce instead. I know. The sauce doesn't look green right? Yeah, it wasn't what I was expecting either but it was good! I also had a side salad to start. The Burrito was HUGE. Seriously, HUGE. I managed to get through about half of it then I had to stop. It was just too much. I think it weighed about 2 lbs. 1.5 lbs at the very least.

It was tasty though!

On the way home we stopped to rent "Boogie Nights" because I had never seen it. The Blockbuster by my house didn't have it. Bummer. That might have been a better "New Thing". Oh well. I enjoyed my burrito. I still have half of it in my fridge.

So, we went home empty handed except for leftovers. Then we took Frankie on a 3 mile walk. I feel well fed and exercised. That's a good day!
